about
The first time I heard this beat was from Jay Electronica's track "Dimethyltryptamine" (produced by Jay Dilla) and I immediately fell in love with it. Upon some research, I soon realized that this track was in an instrumental form, by the name of "Phantom of the Synths" and the sample (pitched and time stretched) was from a track by Giorgio Moroder, featured on the soundtrack for "Midnight Express". MF DOOM also utilized this beat for his song "Gazillion Ear".
And, this is my version. An extended jam; with guitars forging the beat forward, synth and bass work in supporting roles and a thunderous drum breakbeat sound at it's foundation. The cover artwork is a recent creation, that wasn't made for this song in particular, but I do like how they match-up.
